Planorbidae snails are molluscs of health importance as they are intermediate hosts for trematode parasite of the Schistososma genus that are responsible of bilharzia, a disease affecting notably humans and cattle. Here we aimed at characterizing the microbiota composition of several Planorbidae species and strains to better understand which factors shape their bacterial communities.
