The perinatal period has an important impact on the health of cows, and the imbalance of the udder skin micro-ecosystem is an important inducement of cow mastitis. However, it is not clear how the perinatal period affects the microbiota structure and stability of bovine udder skin. Hence, a total of 12 healthy yaks (n=6) and cattle (n=6) in late pregnancy under natural grazing conditions were selected, and udder skin swabs were collected 1-2 weeks prenatal, 1-2 weeks, and 1 month postpartum. Based on the 16S rRNA gene amplification sequence, the composition and succession of the udder skin microbiota in the different perinatal period were studied, and the udder skin core microbiota was screened, the aim of this study was to provide a basis for the treatment of mastitis in dairy cows by using minimum-driving core commensal microbiota.
