(2008) "A Taxonomic status of Petroschmidtia genus (Perciformes: Zoarcidae, Lycodinae) based on molecular-genetic study results" Vestnik of the North-East Scientific Center of the FEB RAS 2" In press --[ABSTRACT: In order to determine a taxonomic status of Pteroschmidtia genus (Perciformes: Zoarcidae, Locodinae), that is endemic for the Sea of Okhotsk and the Japanese Sea and is supposedly identified as Lycodes genus (Anderson, 1944), the first molecular-genetic analysis of species from Petroschmidtia genus and its close-related Lycodes and Bothrocarina genera was made. As a result, the average genetic divergence value between mitochondrial DNA sequences was found to be 9.18% for Petroschmidtia and Lycodes, 8.46% for Lycodes and Bothrocarina and 9.71% for Bothrocarina and Petroschmidtia. Genetic difference between Petroschmidtia and the other two genera is greater than that between the latter ones, which serves for us a basis to recognize a separate Petroschmidtia genus in Lyconidae subfamily.]
